• The Buddha is a symbol of balance for peaceful thoughts and actions. It inspires the wearer to have strength and guidance on their path to enlightenment.

Middle Bracelet:

• The Giraffe. It’s most telling physical feature is obviously the giraffe's neck. Symbolically, this impressive physical feature naturally asks us about "sticking our necks out" in terms of making connections. Reminding us to elongate our vision & to reach as far as we can.

Bottom Bracelet:
• Jasper is known to bring peacefulness & support through times of stress. It is also very stabilizing and is said to reduce insecurity, fear, & guilt. It can protect the wearer from getting carried away, or led astray. It works slowly, providing constant energy, especially in a time of needed change.
• The human skeleton is simply a symbol of what is literally within everyone; it is a way to show the inner you, the soul, acting just as a human being in the flesh might act. For this reason, Day of the Dead is a celebration of the cycle of life & death and a reminder to experience all that makes life worth living.

World Elephant Day

Andreana Salvemini

On August 12, 2012, the inaugural #WorldElephantDay was launched to bring attention to the urgent plight of Asian and African elephants. The elephant is loved, revered and respected by people and cultures around the world, yet we balance on the brink of seeing the last of this magnificent creature.

The escalation of poaching, habitat loss, human-elephant conflict and mistreatment in captivity are just some of the threats to both African and Asian elephants.

World Elephant Day asks you to experience elephants in non-exploitive and sustainable environments where elephants can thrive under care and protection. Get involved by expressing your concern, and by sharing your knowledge and support solutions for the better care of captive and wild elephants alike. 🐘

Happy World Lion Day!

Andreana Salvemini

Lion Day aims to raise awareness of the majestic hunter, the ultimate feline, the king of the jungle, the big fluffy kitty of the Serengeti… Hmm, we should have left it at ‘king of the jungle’.

Basically, it’s all about lions, but you’ve probably got that from the name.

This celebration of the animal kingdom’s most beautiful and fearsome creature was founded by Big Cat Rescue, the world’s largest accredited sanctuary dedicated to big cats. August 10th is a day for people to come together from across the world to pay tribute to the mighty lion in as many ways as possible. Though a fun and exciting occasion for all, its foundations are based in a very serious matter: lion numbers have dramatically declined to the point where the species needs to be placed on the endangered list, just like its larger cousin the tiger.

How you celebrate is entirely up to you. You could change your social media profile pictures to a lion for the day, draw a sketch and share it with friends, find out who has the loudest roar, or even get your coworkers to sponsor you to wear a lion jumpsuit to work, then make a donation to Big Cat Rescue’s ongoing mission.

It's International Owl Awareness Day!

Andreana Salvemini

International Owl Awareness Day is the 4th of August. On this day, we celebrate the humble owl in all it's wisdom and splendor. It's a festive day with plenty to do!

Some of the activities include: Making owl statues or dolls, go out on the town to search for some elusive owls, research how to save owls, and just generally go out and have a real hoot!

So, what can you do as an individual to share the who, what, where and why? On the 4th August, change your display picture to your favorite kind of owl, wear an owl brooch or badge, you could even dress up as an owl! And most importantly, share the knowledge!
